About the décor.

The client bought an existing guesthouse that really needed a revamp. Since the guesthouse was at the coast, my main goal was to bring beautiful colours from the ocean inside. So we’ve used a lot of blue, white, grey and sand colours.

All the rooms were repainted in a soft off-white colour and the exterior a sandy colour. Every room was retiled with a lovely wooden floor look-alike tile. The ceilings rhinolighted and the lights replaced with down lighters. Once the canvas was ready we could focus on the soft furnishings and accessories.

All the rooms were outfitted with 200 thread count white cotton percale linen. Stylish off-white and navy striped rugs were made for each room. These rugs are fully washable and therefore very practical for a guesthouse.

Throughout the guesthouse we used the timeless photographs of South African Photographer David Ballam. His black and white photographs of the ocean really completed the look and brought the ocean inside. The imported wall-panel used in the Lounge also complemented this look.

The honeymoon suite and the bedroom in the main house received extra special attention. We used lovely blue and white wallpaper to create a focal point behind the romantic beds, specially bought for the space.
