Ocean Hideaway

My client bought an existing guesthouse that really needed a revamp. Since the guesthouse was at the coast, with a lovely ocean view, my main goal was to bring the exterior inside. To bring all the beautiful colours from the ocean inside. So we’ve used a lot of blue, white, grey and sand colours.

Firstly, all the rooms and exteriors were repainted in a soft off-white colour inside and a sandy colour outside. All the rooms were retiled with a lovely wooden floor look-alike tile. All the ceilings rhino lighted and the lights replaced with down lighters. Once the canvas was ready we could focus on the soft furnishings and accessories.

All the rooms were outfitted with 200 thread count white cotton percale linen. Beautiful off-white and navy striped rugs were made for each room. These rugs are fully washable and therefore also vary practical for a guesthouse.

Throughout the guesthouse we have used the beautiful photographs of South African Photographer David Ballam. His black and white photographs of the ocean really completed the look and brought the ocean inside. The imported wall-panel used in the Lounge also complemented this look.
The honeymoon suite and the bedroom in the Main house got extra special attention. We used lovely blue and white wallpaper to create a focal point behind the romantic beds, specially bought for the space.
